Questions people ask

Can foreigners buy a house in Switzerland?

Transfer tax 0 to 3.3% depending on the canton, notary and land registry about 0.5 to 1%. Non-residents from outside the EU/EFTA need a permit (Lex Koller) and holiday homes are capped by quota.

How much do buying costs add to the price in Switzerland?

Plan for roughly 4% of the price plus about €2,000 in fixed fees. On a €64,700 home that is around €4,588. Each home page on RealHunt shows the estimate for that exact price.

Are these homes ready to live in?

That is the rule for everything we publish: no ruins, no land, no homes that clearly need major work. Old houses are fine if they have been looked after. Always get a survey before you buy.

How often is this list updated?

Every day. Homes that sell or get reported as gone are taken down, and new ones are added after a person checks them.
